R. Merritt Production provided the overall design for the Montclair Art Museum’s major gala event in May 2018. The event marked the Museum’s 10th Anniversary of Art in Bloom, a biennial celebration of floral design inspired by the art in MAM’s galleries, and, the capstone of the Art in Bloom week was our annual gala, Under a Painted Sky on May 19. It would be hard to overstate the value of Rebecca’s partnership—the professionalism, creativity, and talent she possesses for dreaming up the overall design down to managing every last detail far exceeded our expectations. A true collaborator, Rebecca met our budgetary restraints with wholehearted willingness and flexibility, while demonstrating her impeccable taste to create a truly elegant evening for our guests. Guests were blown away by the complete transformation of the grand tent on the lawn inspired by a Kay WalkingStick painting on view in the galleries. Rebecca and her team demonstrated the utmost respect for the Museum’s campus in their intricate setup and breakdown. Furthermore, her amazing attitude brought some levity and humor to an otherwise intense event planning process. If you are looking for an event designer who is equally invested as you, you will be overwhelmingly pleased!

R. Merritt Production created and implemented the overall design concept for the JAZZ HOUSE KiDS 15th Anniversary Gala hosted at NJPAC in the fall of 2017. Her constant patience and flexibility are unparalleled. Rebecca offered advice and recommendations that always respected both our budget and artistic plan. What impressed me most was Rebecca’s visual incorporation and representation of the JAZZ HOUSE KiDS brand into NJPAC’s space. Rebecca had an intrinsic understanding of our vision and brought it to life with elegance and flair, transporting our guests from one portion of the evening’s activities to the other. She created two very different environments out of the same space for both our cocktail reception and dinner, flipping the room with incredible grace under pressure.

Working with R. Merritt Production for our wedding was a wonderful experience! I was so impressed with the bridal bouquets, centerpieces, and escort table I could barely believe it was all for our wedding. My mother probably said it best when she expressed, “Whatever you paid her, it wasn’t enough!” Rebecca came to our venue a year before the wedding and sat with me at length to discuss my vision and how to make it work within the space. She was respectful of my wishes while sharing her expertise to enhance my vision. She took the time to “flower shop” with me and work with the color palette I had in mind - fall colors for a summer wedding! She also went over each budget proposal step by step and worked within my comfort (price) range. Rebecca even made shoe shopping suggestions that led me to find the burgundy colored shoes I so desperately wanted to wear with my dress!

When she arrived on our wedding day, I was so excited to see her and couldn’t wait to see how it would all look when she and her team were finished. In the end, it was the little touches that made working with R. Merritt Production so special. I had originally told her I wanted a rustic theme with lanterns and wooden centerpieces, but came to realize that wasn’t going to cut it in the formal, high-ceiling ballroom of our venue. While I had forgotten about that idea in favor of the beautiful candelabras we selected, she surprised me on our wedding day by arranging lanterns on the escort table surrounded by small candles in wooden votive holders. She had remembered my rustic vision months after our conversation and managed to fit it into our wedding day in a completely appropriate way. My family was able to use many of the flowers the next day at a brunch, and I was almost disappointed to leave for our honeymoon knowing I couldn’t enjoy the arrangements for any longer. You can trust R. Merritt Production for your wedding flowers because Rebecca and her fantastic team deeply care about the final product and won’t deliver anything but their best work.

I did not cry when I put on my dress, when I walked down the aisle, or said, “I do.” But, when I walked into our venue and saw how perfectly everything came together, I shed several tears. Rebecca listened to my vision, got a feel for us a couple and the mood we were trying to achieve and put together the most amazing look. I would have never been able to imagine what she did on my own. It was like she could read my subconscious!

Rebecca designed every last arrangement for a 2 day, 5 location, 20 shot-photo shoot I recently did for my interior design business. Her arrangements were inventive, drop dead beautiful and a perfect design counterpoint for each room. She almost sculpts her arrangements like a potter at the wheel. The results and pictures were incredible! I must also mention she’s a delight to be around, hilarious, energetic and wise.

R. Merritt Production really came through for Bloomingdales. We needed arrangements for a bridal show and Rebecca not only assured us she’d take care of everything, she did an amazing job of incorporating our signature colors into cohesive arrangements that were unique and modern. Her florals were the hit of the show!”

Rebecca’s talent made my wedding visually stunning. My wish list of possibilities paled in comparison to what she created for us on our wedding day. The peonies she found for my bouquet (nearly impossible to locate in August) were so striking, my husband later tattooed them on his arm!”

Rebecca is creative, enthusiastic, and delightful to work with. Her flower arrangements for my daughter’s Bat Mitzvah were gorgeous and really exceeded our expectations. Rebecca’s innovative choice of materials and her attention to detail make her arrangements one of a kind. I highly recommend her!
